What my granddaughters have taught me in the last six months:
Hello hugs are the best.
Never use a spoon when fingers are available.
Pink is the queen of colors. Beside Pink, all other colors fade to white.
Candy is the pinnacle of the food pyramid, pasta is second, and green beans comes third. Anyone want green jellybean pasta for dinner?
Arts and crafts go a long way toward saving my sanity. If I can keep them interested in painting or making necklaces, there is a much shorter trail of crumbs, spilled milk, and sticky fingerprints to chase down.
I no longer have a dinner table available because… arts and crafts.
Hugs heal most wounds.
Pacifier addiction is real.
If you don’t want a tattooed two-year-old who looks like she’s part of a secret tribe of ancient warrior toddlers, never leave markers anywhere within reach.
Never give in, never give up. The five-year-old has me beat on that one.
Unless you are absolutely, positively sure they are asleep, silence is a foghorn of impending trouble.
Goodbye hugs are the best.
